In the unfortunate event I forget what passion feels like.

Checklist for Passion (non-exhaustive)

  • Can you do it after work when your mind is clear?
  • Is it something that you would be happy to die doing? (Marcus Aurelius, Book 2 Verse 11)
  • Does it energize you and make you forget to eat?
  • Does the thing you do make you emotional when you think of the reasons and history of why you do it?
  • Can you find the connection you truly desire within the process and the end result? That's including the connections you make with others.
  • If you think of the future impact of what you are doing, does it instill hope and a sense of beauty?

Currently, for me, that is drawing, my work, and the slow, thoughtful development of FirstTrack.
